Labour retained their 16 seat majority on Coventry City Council with a comfortable win in the Lower Stoke by-election.
The poll - called following the death of former Lord Mayor Jack Harrison - was won by 59-year-old mother of two Catherine Miks.
She was 803 votes ahead of second placed candidate, Conservative Jaswant Singh Birdi.
The turnout was just 18.51 per cent.
