Police are warning motorists to be vigilant against suspicious activity on the roads following reports of a new scam happening in and around Warwick.

A Warwick insurance broker has circulated an email warning against thieves who are placing a car seat by the road with a fake baby in it. They wait for people to stop and check on the abandoned baby and then steal from them. The email also warns that people who have an egg thrown at the windscreen are in danger if they stop.

A police spokesman said: “Motorists should always be aware of suspicious activity and potential dangers on the roads. If you spot anything suspicious you should drive to a place of safety and report the matter to the police.”

Not sure about this one Dutchman

I get several "warnings" like this per week. Many are plausible, but very few stand up to strict scrutiny.
