An animal rights organisation is offering a £1,000 reward to try to find out who killed a cat by hanging it in Warwick.![]()
The body of 2-year old Sharpay was discovered dangling from a fence in the town’s Kempton Drive in mid-March.
The shoelaces around her neck were so tight the RSPCA officer called out to deal with it had difficulty cutting them off.
It’s thought Sharpay was alive before she was hung and that whoever did it wanted to kill her in an attack an animal welfare officer’s called “horrific”.
Spokesperson for animal charity PETA, Alistair Currie, said: “Animal abusers are cowards. They take their issues out on the most defenceless beings available to them.”
Anyone with information can call the RSPCA cruelty line on 0300 1234 999 or for more information you can visit PETA’s website.
