The accident happened on the A426 at Kites Hardwick just before 8:30am - which was shut for several hours for police investigation work.

The car ended up in a ditch following the incident – although the driver escaped with minor injuries.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Ambulance crews assessed all the children on the two buses together with the drivers involved.”

“Three female students were treated with the use of a neck collar and placed on a spinal board as a precaution, before being taken to hospital.”

“One of the bus drivers was also hospitalised with an ankle injury. All the other drivers and passengers were discharged at the scene by ambulance staff.”

The youngsters involved were all aged between 13 and 17.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact PC Ian Payne at Warwickshire Police on 01926 415415.
