Radio DJ sacked for cutting short Queen's Christmas speech

Wed Dec 30, 2009 9:18 am

A Birmingham radio DJ has been sacked after making a joke and cutting short the Queen's Christmas Day address.

Tom Binns interrupted Her Majesty's annual address on BRMB, saying 'two words: bor-ing'.

He then made a quip about 'going from one queen to another' as he played a George Michael song after the address finished.

In fairness to the Brummie DJ, the Queen's Xmas address is 'boring' and virtually irrelevant to the way people live these days.

"Top of the Pops" is another relic from the past which should be consigned to the dustbin of history.

I think Her Maj was somewhat overshadowed by the Pope going down on that woman this year!

Nice touch at the end of the speech with the West Indian steel band playing the National Anthem ... obviously Prince Philip suggested that.

I'm surprised David Tennant wasn't in it? He was in everything else!

I must confess I haven't listened to the Queens speech in a very long time - for the simple reason it's ......... boring :(

Seems a bit extreme to have sacked the DJ - but in this world of political correctness - maybe they had to be seen to be doing something - definitely OTT :fuming:
