London Midland will today hold talks with a union to try to resolve a row that’s seen dozens of trains between Coventry and Nuneaton cancelled.

For nearly three weeks now, many services have been replaced by buses because the union ASLEF hasn’t agreed a new deal on overtime.

It means the company haven’t got enough drivers - with replacement buses significantly increasing journey times.

You can see a day-by-day breakdown of how services are affected here.

The company’s operations man Wallace Weatherill will be one of the people talking to the ASLEF union later today to try to reach a deal:

“We are hoping that we can persuade them to allow our drivers to keep working overtime because lets face it in this day and age people do like the happy balance.”

“We’ve been trying to give as much information to passengers as possible about what trains will be affected.”

“We’ve used our website to give at least 48 hours notice, we’ve found that particularly useful to pass information on to the customers.”

Meanwhile, a totally separate dispute will see nearly every service this Sunday cancelled.

Drivers are walking out because it will be the first day of a new overtime package which will see the amount they take home on Sundays reduced by 10 per cent.

The company’s asking people not to travel on that day unless it’s completely necessary.
