Woman's body found on Coventry ring road

An investigation has been started after a woman was found dead lying on Coventry's ring road.



West Midlands Police were called to reports of a man and a woman lying in the Ringway St Nicholas by Canal Bridge at 0650 GMT.

The woman was confirmed dead at the scene and the man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road is closed in both directions and anyone with information has been asked to contact police.

Officers said the road was due to be closed all morning.
