Atherstone Town have announced their intention to resign from the Zamaretto League and join the Midland Alliance at the end of the season.
The Atherstone board told the
club website: "We are unable to continue with the level of costs required to maintain a football club at this level.
"In terms of non-debt, we are in a comfortable position, but our capacity to raise income is very limited."
The Adders, formed back in 2004, are currently 14th in Division One Central.
The message on the website continued: "When our finances permit and fortune favours us on the pitch, we also hope one day to make a return."
