The owner of a Coventry restaurant that recently shut its doors to diners says the "hospitality industry has changed since Covid".

Asiana Restaurant, formerly on Holbrook Lane, ceased its sit down offering last month, moving to a takeaway only model.

Owner Amir Ahmed told Coventry Live: "After 15 years of serving Coventry, Asiana Restaurant has made the difficult decision to close its dine-in restaurant service, reflecting how the hospitality industry has changed since Covid.

"Over the years, Asiana has hosted countless family celebrations, proposals, anniversaries, and community gatherings, and during the pandemic we worked with local supporters to provide meals for frontline workers, the elderly, and the homeless."

But, Mr Ahmed is hopeful the site can continue to work in some capacity.

"Although the restaurant chapter is ending, the business will continue operating as Asiana Express takeaway from the same location," he shared.

A new venue is also launching this month in place of Asiana, with Mr Ahmed and team moving away from sit down dining and more into the coffee shop arena.

"We are opening a new café concept called Maple - Home of Brunch, launching in March 2026, creating a fresh daytime space for the community," he said.
