Developer Ricky Dougall said the land is currently an 'eyesore'
Plans to build new apartments in Coventry have been given the go-ahead. Seven flats are set to be constructed at the corner of Humber Road and Terry Road.
Ricky Dougall, of the Dougall Group, told CoventryLive that seven self-contained apartments will be housed in a three-storey building. He said four one-bedroom and three two-bedroom flats are planned.
Residents will benefit from a 12-space car park and 12 cycle spaces, with access provided via Terry Road. Eight residential units are planned for the vacant land alongside the apartments.
Mr Dougall said the site currently consists of terraced houses facing Humber Road, with scrubland behind. Two unused advertising boards and wooden fencing at the rear of the homes have made the area appear 'neglected.'

While eight flats were initially proposed, the Dougall Group revised the proposal to seven units to provide more suitable living spaces. Mr Dougall said the development will also feature access roads, parking, and landscaping.
Coventry City Council approved the project in February, following years of planning. Mr Dougall said the approval will bring high-quality homes to the underutilised plot in Lower Stoke.
Mr Dougall, of the Dougall Group, said: “It was a challenge to obtain planning permission over the last few years, but we worked closely with Coventry City Council and managed to get a scheme approved. It is currently an eyesore, and now that planning has been granted, this will improve the area and create further accommodation in the city.”
