A man has been charged with making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life after people were evacuated from their homes in Coventry. Police were called to a property on St Judes Crescent, near the junction with Meadfoot Road, in Willenhall on Wednesday (February 4).

Experts from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) were called in and found that fireworks had been 'tampered with.' Police arrested a 33-year-old man and he has now been charged.

“A cordon was put in place to ensure the safety of residents, and no one was hurt. Olamide Bello has subsequently been charged with making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life and criminal damage. He was due at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.”
