Council bosses have confirmed an investigation is underway into the demolition of a former Nuneaton car dealers. What was Etone Motors and latterly a fishing tackle shop on Attleborough has been razed to the ground.

The area has been fenced off with a skeleton structure remaining on the land. It prompted questions from the community about what is going to happen to the land in the future.

However, the borough council has told CoventryLive that the works to demolish the buildings were carried out without official permission. It means that investigation is now underway.

It is being undertaken by the enforcement team at the Town Hall. A council spokesperson explained: "Permission was not applied for or granted by the council for the demolition of the buildings on 45 Attleborough Road.

"This is currently under investigation by the council’s planning enforcement team."

There are currently no live planning applications for the future use of the site.
