Mystery surrounds the sudden 'closure' of two shops in Nuneaton town centre. Both the Ice menswear and Utopia clothing stores in the Ropewalk Shopping Centre have had their doors closed.

Both stores appear to have been emptied. Neither have signs to explain the closure, nor if it is permanent.

Old 'sale' signs remain in the windows of both of the shops. It has left locals puzzled as to why they have closed.

Some reported being in both of the shops at the weekend. But now they have closed with no prior notice.

This happened with the Pandora store. The jewellery shop suddenly closed its doors, with no warning.

But, several months later, it re-opened again. The Ropewalk has a number of long-standing empty units.

This includes the former home of River Island as well as Monsoon and the old Body Shop. There also remains an empty unit which did play home to Joco, until the award-winning independent firm moved to nearby Queens Road.
