Police have confirmed they are investigating a potential arson attack at a flat in Coventry. There was a huge emergency services presence in Radford earlier this morning (October 6).

West Midlands Fire Service sent four fire engines to the property in Mossdale Close. Crews found that a flat was '100 per cent' engulfed in flames. Initially there were concerns that people were inside the property.

But West Midlands Police has confirmed that there were no reported injuries. It took fire crews several hours to tackle the flames and dampen down the property.

Now an investigation is underway to find those responsible for the suspected arson attack. A police spokesperson said: "We were called by fire service colleagues to a suspected arson at a property in Mossdale Close, Radford, at just before 9am today.

"No one was in the property at the time and no one has reported any injuries to us. We are working with the fire service to establish the full circumstances.

"Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website or call 101, quoting crime reference 20/891269/24."

That's a pretty secluded area which suggests it was someone local?
