A cocaine and MDMA dealer was caught after police clocked him speeding in a car. Officers first became suspicious when they saw a car being driven at speed down a dead-end street in Radford Semele.

They followed the car and watched it park up next to a camper van which had a man sitting in the front. They stopped the car and seized what has been described as a padded bag containing cannabis and class A drugs.

They arrested Luke De-Souza, aged 32, and a later search of his house in Charles Gardner Road, Leamington led to the seizure of even more drugs. He was charged with a number of offences.

He went on to be convicted of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of MDMA with intent to supply. At Warwick Crown Court last week he was jailed for 42 months.

Speaking after the court sentencing, investigating officer, Detective Constable Mottram, said: “This excellent work by alert officers led to a drug dealer and drugs being taken off the streets. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackle a trade that has such a detrimental impact on law-abiding people.

“I hope this outcome serves as a warning to drug dealers that we are looking for you and we will not tolerate this type of activity."
