Tile Hill post office to close and move into shop with longer opening hours

A Coventry post office will close and move to a new location with longer opening hours. Post Office has agreed to relocate the Charter Post Office after the new postmaster requested that the branch be moved to his nearby convenience store.

The move comes after the previous postmaster retired after 41 years of service. The current branch at 290 Charter Avenue, Coventry, CV4 8DA, will close on Monday, August 21 at 5pm, with the new branch opening on Wednesday 30 August at 1pm.

In the interim, alternative branches include:

• Canley Post Office, 23 Cannon Park Centre, Lynchgate Road, Coventry, CV4 7EH
  
• Jardine Post Office, 76 Jardine Crescent, Coventry, CV4 9PQ

The new opening hours will be 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. There will a Post Office serving point alongside the retail counter. The same products and services will be available.

The proposed premises will have a wide automatic door and level access at the entrance and room for a wheelchair to manoeuvre inside. Parking will be available right outside.
