Lit paper put through letterbox in Leamington Spa

Lit paper was pushed through the letterbox of a house in Warwickshire.



Police said the attempted arson attack took place during the early hours of Sunday in Comyn Street, Leamington Spa.

The householder was woken by the smell of burning and managed to put the fire out before any serious damaged was caused, officers at Warwickshire Police said.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious between midnight and 0300 BST on Sunday should contact police.
