The Conservatives now hold every seat in Bedworth during a tremendous Nuneaton and Bedworth local election 2022. Last night the Tories took the Bede seat from Labour - the final seat Labour held in the town - meaning it is now under complete Conservative control.

It was a moment that was not lost on the Tories, most notably the group leader, councillor Kris Wilson and also Bedworth's MP Craig Tracey. In fact, the town's voice in Parliament dubbed it a 'great turnaround'.

After the final results were declared, he posted on Twitter, he said: "It’s official. With final result just announced for Bedworth, we now have all 10 Council seats. When I was elected in 2015, we had 0…Great turnaround by fantastic hard working team. Well done all."

His comments were echoed by council leader, Cllr Kris Wilson, who said that Labour had taken what was previously a strong-hold area for granted. "I think there has been a trend in Bedworth, over the years, that Labour has taken them for granted and they always thought that it was a banker, and residents over there have rebelled," he said.

"They want something better and they deserve something better, and they think that we are the party that can deliver that. The result in Bedworth has been tremendous."

It was not all plain-sailing for the Tories. They lost a stronghold seat in Weddington to the Green Party, which now has two councillors at the Town Hall. The Tories also did not manage to seize Labour stronghold seats in Camp Hill, Kingswood and Abbey. But they did hold onto the Barpool seat which they seized from Labour in a by-election last November.
