It is for a special reason

Access into parts of Bedworth biggest park will be out of bounds for several days - for a special reason. Public notices have been placed around the Miners Welfare Park warning people about dates when access will be limited.

This is for the giant 'Build to burn' national Covid memorial coming to the park. It is being organised by the Sanctuary project.

The 65ft wooden memorial will be set up in the park in preparation for the event, which is taking place in late May and Bedworth was chosen to house it as it is famously 'the town that never forgets’ because of its incredible Armistice tradition.

Contractors need access to the site in preparation for the event. This means that access to the park from the Coventry Road entrance, near the Old Black Bank pub, will be closed temporarily.

They are due to be on site on Sunday, May 1 prior to the event, and also Tuesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 1 for after the event. While access from the Coventry Road side of the park is blocked off, people can access the park via the leisure centre.

'Sanctuary' will be the third in a memorial trilogy from David Best, who is famous for his temples at Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. It will see the huge wooden memorial created and will give people the chance to leave messages for those who have been lost during Covid.

Then the spectacular finale to build to burn project will be held on Saturday, May 28 and see the structure be ceremonially set alight.

Aren't they worried about pollution and air quality? :clown:
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
