Salt and Vinegar Fish and Chips will be giving free chips to the first 30 customers after 11am



Locals are thrilled after the opening of a brand-new fish and chip shop at West Orchards in Coventry. Salt and Vinegar Fish and Chips has opened its doors to delighted diners today (Saturday, April 30).

Owner Rita Sahjpall prides herself on making 'everything fresh' and says she cannot wait to welcome locals into her restaurant. She added that she has 'many years' of experience and also runs two Auntie Anne's franchises in the city.

Rita, who lives in Leamington, told CoventryLive: "Salt and Vinegar is a fish and chip shop and restaurant. We have 60 seats. We do everything fresh, fresh fish, fresh potatoes, we even make our own fresh naan for the kebabs."

Diners can expect an array of delicious options at Salt and Vinegar Fish and Chips. Rita said: "We start right from breakfast, a traditional fish and chip shop menu, jacket potatoes and paninis and then your usual kebabs, sausage in batter, all sorts of traditional chip shop menu items."

Rita described the new venture as a 'great opportunity' and said when she saw the plot become available she 'took advantage.' Yesterday (April 29) Rita hosted a soft launch and was thrilled with the response from locals.

She told CoventryLive: "It has been really positive. I think people have really missed having a fish and chip shop in the centre, so we have had really good positive feedback. We have also had some great comments on Facebook and there seems to be a lot of encouragement."

Salt and Vinegar Fish and Chips will be open between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Customers can attend the grand opening today (April 30) at 11am where the first 30 customers will get their hands on FREE chips!
