Ford Fiesta stolen in Holbrooks believed to fifth stolen in same weekend

A Ford Fiesta was stolen from outside a Coventry home on Saturday (March 12) and is thought to be part of targeted attack on Ford cars.

CCTV footage shows the moment three men walk up to a driveway at a house in Holbrooks around 11.20pm before making off with the car. One of the thieves jumps into the driver's seat and the other two push the car off the drive on Nunts Lane.

This is believed to be the fifth Ford car stolen in the area over the weekend after four thefts reportedly took place across Bedworth. The owner, who didn't want to be named, said it is frustrating how easy it is to "swipe away cars".

"It has been reported to the police and as yet it hasn't been recovered," he told CoventryLive today (March 14). "If you own a keyless car, it's worth thinking about extra deterrents."

This car theft happened just before another Ford Fiesta was taken from Alice Close in Bedworth. The mum of that victim told CoventryLive yesterday (March 13) she believes Ford vehicles are "being targeted".

She said her son has been left "shocked and upset" by the incident, adding that he is unable to get a courtesy car from his insurance company which has left him without a vehicle. According to the victim, the worst part of the theft is the "inconvenience" it has caused as well as the "lack of respect" for the property of others.

Another local said two of their Ford Fiesta vehicles were also stolen in the early hours of Saturday morning (March 12). In the space of eight months, one resident who lives on Gallagher Road said they have had their Ford Focus stolen twice.
