It's been blown all over parked cars

Cars on a Coventry street have been left covered in sandy dust after the road was resurfaced last week.

The Mount, Cheylesmore, was resurfaced by Coventry City Council last week and left covered with a layer of sand.

However, residents say as cars have driven over it it's been crushed into a fine dust which has blanketed the street over the past week.

Dave Williams, a resident of The Mount, said: "The cars are all completely covered in dust and when you look out of the window it looks foggy due to the amount of dust.

"It's even settling inside some of the cars on the streets as it's getting in through the vents."

Mr Williams also says that the sand has settled in the surface of the road, as it didn't set properly due to the intense heat over the past week.

He added: "We can't open the windows to our houses as well as the dust will just fly in and it's been pretty horrible given the recent heatwave.

"I don't know what I'm breathing in and my wife's really struggling, she's coughing all over the place because of the dust."

Mr Williams is also concerned about who will pay for the mess it has caused on his car, saying: "I can't just take it through a car wash as it will be torn up by the sand.

"It needs a proper valet but as it's not my fault I don't feel like I should pay for it."

They need to be careful how they remove that. Sand is highly abraisive.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
