An eyewitness saw a group armed with knives chasing a man down Far Gosford Street
Two men were stabbed in Coventry in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The stabbings happened in Far Gosford Street at around 1.30am this morning.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds and he remains in a serious condition.
Another man, also 21, was also taken to hospital with leg injuries which are not believed to be serious.
An eyewitness said he saw a man running down the street screaming being chased by a group armed with knifes and a shotgun.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Although the investigation is in its early stages, we believe this to be a targeted attack.
"However, extra officers will be in the area to reassure local people as our investigation continues."
