It's been compared to the infamous Fyre Festival

Parents were left livid following an event branding itself as the 'best value fun-packed kids event in the UK' fell far short of expectations.

Kidztopia was held at NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire last weekend, with parents and their children coming from across the West Midlands.

One angry parent called it 'the UK version of Fyre Festival', the disastrous music festival which was held on the Bahamas in 2017 which drew worldwide criticism and even became the subject of a Netflix documentary.

One parent, Nancy Makin, said: "I am absolutely furious about this entire experience. Kidztopia was marketed as the UK's best family-friendly event and this couldn't be further from the truth.

"When we arrived for the Saturday morning session my partner actually said 'maybe they are still setting up'.

"It was so unbelievably amateur I'm shocked that they are shocked we are complaining!

"Firstly, I need to make it clear I'm not moaning about the weather which Kidztopia seems to keep blaming the entire day on.

"There was simply not enough for the price paid and the amount of people there."

Parents are now fighting for refunds on the grounds that the event was misrepresented but the company are saying no refunds will be given, only free admission to a future event.

The organisers have also started blocking people who have complained on their Facebook pages and deleted negative comments.

Another parent, Candice Stedall, said: "I paid £116 for two adult and three children's tickets, so about the same as it would cost us to go to Drayton Manor.

"Inside there was just a few bouncy castles and a few rides with many of the things advertised not being there.

"There was huge queues for the bouncy castles, with some kids waiting for more than an hour for just a few minutes on them.

"We left after just 30 minutes."

"Deleting negative reviews, blocking people, refusal of refunds and a 'statement' full of excuses.

"The statement well and truly missed the point and didn't actually address the fact the event was a total rip off. Free tickets to next year's event is completely laughable."
