A Keresley has been charged with wounding in connection with an attempted murder investigation in Nuneaton where a man was run down with a Skoda.

Jamie Townsend, 32, of Bennetts Road North, was charged last night (June 7) with section 18 wounding and two counts of attempted section 18 wounding.

He is due to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court today (June 8).

The charges are in connection with an incident on Meldrum Road, Nuneaton, on the evening of May 29.

A man, who has not been identified, remains in hospital after suffering serious injuries after being hit by a Skoda car on the street.

More than a week on, the victim remains in hospital.

Investigations into what police said was an attempted murder are ongoing.
