A 17-year-old was taken to hospital

A teenager was taken to hospital after a stabbing on a retail outlet's car park in Coventry.

The emergency services were called to the Gallagher Retail Park just before 8pm last night.

And police have this morning confirmed that a 17-year-old boy suffered a stab wound to the hip during the incident.

He was taken to hospital for further treatment following the incident - but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

The ambulance service confirmed that they were called at 7.51pm to Stoney Stanton Road to "reports of an assault".

One ambulance was sent to the scene, where they treated a male teenager.

Police have confirmed that this is unrelated to another incident near the Gallagher Retail Park last night - in which a girl was struck by a bus.

In that incident, which took place just hours before the stabbing, a girl was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital after suffering serious injuries.
