One of the instruments has huge sentimental value

Salvation Army bosses have made a desperate plea for precious instruments to be returned to a devastated band member.

Katie Lawrence was preparing to leave her home in Bedworth on Saturday to meet Salvation Army band members in Nuneaton town centre to join in the Christmas carolling when she realised her car had been broken into.

If the upset of that was not enough, it then came to light that the thieves had taken a Green PBone, which is a plastic trombone, a Gold coloured brass baritone horn in a brown hard plastic carry case and a coat.

The teacher has been left devastated at the loss, especially of the brass baritone horn.

Major Neil Denyer from Nuneaton Salvation Army said: "The baritone was entrusted to her by a congregation member, it has a huge sentimental value.

"None of us are worried about the cost of these things, they are all insured, it is the sentimental cost. She was in tears."

Speaking about the theft, Major Denyer said: "They must have seen the case and thought there would be something inside it worth taking yet the baritone will have little market value but it means so much to her."

Nuneaton's Salvation Army band have been playing in the town centre every Saturday throughout December to spread some festive cheer.

Anyone with any information about the stolen musical equipment is being urged to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.

That would be impossible Dutchman. They would have already nicked the nails.
I truly feel sorry for this girl, what a despicable thing to do.
