A Mercedes was left badly damaged after being rammed in a road rage incident in Coventry.

The car had to be abandoned in the middle of the road near the junction of Lillington Road and Honiley Way, Wood End, just before 11am on Tuesday, July 31.

Its boot was caved in and three of its wheels were bent out of shape.

West Midlands Police said they initially received reports of a disorder outside a property in Lillington Road, Wood End, at around 10.45am.

Two men, who are thought to know each other, were seen arguing before one man got in his car and rammed the other man's vehicle.

One man has been arrested.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a disorder outside a property in Lillington Road, Wood End, at around 10.45 this morning (31 July).

"Two men, who are believed to be known to each other, were seen to be arguing before one man got in his car and started ramming the other man’s car.

"Police arrived and arrested a 39-year old from Coventry for criminal damage. He remains in police custody."

Isn't it a purely civil matter if they are known to each other?
