A school inadvertently left a foul-mouthed voicemail about an autistic pupil on his shocked mum's mobile phone.

Leighanne Bromley, 29, from Cheylesmore, said her jaw hit the ground when she first heard the message last week.

Now the disgusted mum has called for the staff heard abusing her son to be suspended from RNIB Three Spires Academy.

The school posted an apology to Leighanne on its website on Friday.

A spokesman for the school said headteacher Rob Jones had been in direct contact with Leighanne since last week over the incident.

Leighanne told CoventryLive her son Harley, 10, has been off school with a cold.

A member of staff left a friendly voicemail last Tuesday (July 10) enquiring after Harley's health and when he would be returning to school.

However believing she had hung up, the she goes on to say: "And make sure he's off all f******* week."

A man in the background adds: "What about two weeks?"

What follows was an exchange between the woman and male member of staff joking about Harley being kept out of school until the end of term.

The male worker can be heard saying: "She was just making sure Harley is off all week, and the second question is could you keep him off next week as well?"

The woman is then heard saying: "Yes please until the end of the year".

The man then jokes about Harley being returned to school on July 27, after the start of the summer holidays.

Gobsmacked Leighanne said she couldn't believe the contents of the message and had to hang up and listen to the message several times.

She said :"My jaw just hit the floor.

"I was gobsmacked and horrified someone who is entrusted with my son's care had that attitude towards him."

She said the message came on the back of a difficult year for her son who had developed some behavioural problems as he has grown older.

But she said the issues were minor and she had attempted to liaise with the school on how best to deal with Harley, who had previously had no problems over three-and-a-half years at Three Spires.

Leighanne quickly took the matter to the school's headteacher Rob Jones and in a meeting demanded the staff involved face suspension.

If they resort to this kind of behaviour they are in the wrong job with this also the other story also old people homes . IMO the ones that can cope with these kind of jobs as it is hard work need paying more and less hours or more staff to assist.

I personally would keep my child at home and have done when a teacher has gone to far in fact she was made to take early retirement.
