There were reports of a stand-off
Emergency crews were called to a bridge above Coventry's ring road after reports of a stand-off.
It has since emerged that police were concerned with the welfare of a man, who was later taken to hospital.
A section of the the ring road, below the Canal Basin bridge, was closed off while police and ambulance crews spoke with the man on Sunday, July 1.
Police vehicles were used to stop traffic between the Radford Road and Foleshill Road junctions.
The man was later escorted down from the bridge on the Leicester Row side, and was taken in an ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
The road below was open to traffic a short while later.
