A high-value car was stolen from the driveway of a home while the owner slept.

The grey Mercedes C300 was taken from outside the house in Pembury Avenue, Longford, in the early hours of Tuesday, June 12.

The car's owner, Luke Wilson, says the thieves struck between midnight and 6am this morning while he and his mother were sleeping inside the house.

Luke said: "I went to bed last night with the car on the drive. I fell asleep and my mum was asleep as well.

"They've come on to the drive and as it's keyless so they must have used a device to take the car.

"One of the neighbours is going through their CCTV to try and find out exactly what time."

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating the theft of a grey Mercedes coupe from a driveway outside an address in Pembury Avenue, Longford, Coventry.

"The car was taken sometime between 10pm on June 11 and 6.30am on June 12."

Anyone with any information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime reference 20CV/130529H/18.

It's high time the manufacturers were held responsible for this type of theft. The motor industry knew about the flaws with keyless entry years ago. They chose to ignore it!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
