Young yobs put lives at risk after hurling stones at passing vehicles from a bridge on the A444.

Fortunately no-one was injured but one motorist had their windscreen cracked as a result of the stone throwing from the ‘banana bridge’ on the A444 in Bedworth .

Police are now keen to trace the suspect behind the ‘extremely dangerous’ attack and are also appealing to young people not to follow suit.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “Throwing objects at moving vehicles is obviously extremely dangerous. Fortunately, in this case the only damage caused was to the car and nothing more serious.”

Investigations into the incident, which was reported at 4.40pm on Good Friday, are ongoing and anyone with any information is being asked to come forward.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help police with their enquiries are being urged to call police,” the spokesperson added.

Those who know is responsible or who saw anything in the area should either call police on 101, quoting incident 263 of March 30, or the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111 or online
