A "significant quantity" of suspected class A drugs were recovered by copsThree young men were arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after a car was stopped in Coventry.
Police stopped the VW Golf in Windmill Road, Longford, just after midnight on Friday, January 12, and searched the occupants after officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from the car.
The 19-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife, driving while under the influence of drugs and drug dealing.
A 20-year-old passenger was also arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply, plus also in connection with a burglary in Oadby, Leicestershire, last September when a car was allegedly stolen.
A 17-year-old was also arrested from the car on suspicion of drug dealing.
A “significant quantity” of white powder, suspected of being Class A drugs, was also recovered from the car.
All three have been released under investigation while police await the results of forensic analysis.
