"Coventry man" charged with child abduction and drug offences

A man has been charged with two counts of child abduction after police stopped a car in Coventry.

Officers pulled the car over in Bell Green Road, at the junction with Redruth Close, at 9.45pm on Monday, November 27, as they suspected it was being driven without insurance.

A man was arrested and a quantity of class A drugs were also recovered.

Unemployed Mustafa Ahmadzai, 19, of Sherbourne Street, Spon End, has since been charged with two counts of child abduction and two counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

He appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday when the case was sent to Warwick Crown Court for a hearing on January 4.

Ahmadzai was remanded in custody.
