Forsyth, 23, of no fixed address, was jailed for 11 years after pleading guilty at Warwick Crown Court to two charges of raping his 19-year-old victim.

He had also admitted trying to rob the man, stealing his rucksack and two charges of assaulting him.

Jailing Forsyth, Judge Sylvia de Bertodano told him: “I am sure, in the cold light of day, you appreciate that this would have been a terrifying ordeal, particularly for a young man with problems.

“You effectively abducted him and raped him twice. It was a sustained incident which lasted for nearly an hour, and there was significant violence.”

Prosecutor Adrian Fleming said that in September last year the victim was approached by Forsyth, who gave his name as Connor, and suggested they go into a nearby park for a drink.

In the park he offered to carry the youth’s rucksack which he took into some bushes, and the teenager followed him.

“The defendant then began to assault him physically and sexually,” said Mr Fleming.

His victim tried to push him off, but Forsyth was stronger than him and told him that if he moved, he would kill him, and kicked him to the face and body.

Forsyth then raped him again before demanding £200 from his victim.

The teenager did not have any cash, so Forsyth took him to a cash machine in Riley Square – but the only card his victim had was a gift card, so no money could be obtained.

He then forced him into a garage where it was said a further sexual assault took place, although there was no specific charge in relation to that.

Forsyth assaulted him again, kicking him to the face and inflicting cigarette burns to his face before his ordeal finally came to an end.

The police were called, and Forsyth, whose only previous convictions were for a burglary in 2004 and a public order offence in 2014, was identified from a cigarette butt.

When Forsyth was arrested he put forward an alibi which was disproved by the police and he was picked out by his victim.
