Accident .. emergency services at the scene of the incident in School Lane this afternoon
A DRIVER has had a miraculous escape after a tree fell onto his car in Bedworth.
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has confirmed that they received a call at 4.30pm today (Monday. June 5) to reports that a tree had fallen onto a car in School Lane.
It was first feared that the driver was trapped inside.
However, while an ambulance and paramedic area support officer was dispatched to the scene, the caller told the 999 control that the man had got out of the vehicle.
When the medics arrived they found a man, aged in his 20s, walking around. He had only suffered a minor hand injury.
As a result of the incident, and the need to remove the car from the road, there are currently traffic delays in the area.
