A pregnant woman was reportedly assaulted in a fist fight that broke out over parking.

Several police vehicles and an ambulance were called to the incident in Foleshill Road early this afternoon.

Neighbours said a fight had broken out between two groups of people after a van had parked over the pavement outside a house.

A pensioner tried to stop the brawl before a young girl asked a shopkeeper to call the police because her brother was getting beaten up.

At one point a man could be seen being led away by the police but no-one was arrested.

A man and a pregnant women received treatment for injuries at the scene, according to the ambulance service, but did not require hospital care.

spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an assault. Two patients were treated.

"A woman in her twenties and a man in his eighties.

"The woman was treated for a minor head injury and a man was treated for a minor knee injury."

A West Midlands Police spokesman said that they were called to reports of a disturbance in Foleshill Road at around 1.30pm.

No-one has been arrested.

Police were unwilling to provide any more details on the incident.
