One of Jacqueline Wright's readings showed she was more than four times the drink-drive limit

A driver has been jailed for more than six months after being caught drink-driving twice in the same week.

Jacqueline Margaret Wright was found to be over the drink-drive limit in Tile Hill Lane, Coventry, on August 8 - just three days after blowing a reading more than four times the limit in Alderminster Road, Mount Nod.

Wright, 52, clocked a reading of 161 microgrammes (mcg) in 100 millilitres of breath during the first incident on August 8. The legal limit is 35 mcg.

She was handed a suspended sentence for that offence by Coventry magistrates before being caught once again in her black Renault Clio in Tile Hill Lane where her reading was 104 mcg.

Wright stood before the city’s magistrates’ court for a second time in a matter of days when she pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and committing an offence while subject to a suspended sentence.

She was handed a 30-week prison sentence - 12 weeks for the new offences and 18 weeks imposed from the original suspended sentence.

Wright, of Weston Road, Evesham, was also banned from driving for four years and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
