Workers describe 'whirlwind' as police swoop on scene of Radford stabbing
A Coventry street has reopened after a man was stabbed and left fighting for his life.
Police taped off Crampers Field, in Radford, on Tuesday after the stabbing in the busy shopping street at 11.45am.
Forensic examiners scoured the scene after paramedics had taken the injured man to hospital with head and chest injuries.
He is said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Another man was also treated for hand injuries following the incident.
Workers at nearby businesses have spoken of the moment police descended on the street following the stabbing.
One worker who is based nearby said: “I heard a commotion outside but it was over in a flash.
“It was crazy but the police and ambulance were there in a whirlwind and then it was over.”
Another said that they gave themselves two days off for the bank holiday and only knew of the stabbing near to their business after reading about it in the Telegraph.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing with police urging anyone with information to call officers on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
