Telecoms company outlines changes - set for July 3 - in letter to customers
BT customers face price increases to their landline and broadband services in the coming months, it has been revealed.
The telecoms company has announced price hikes for millions - including customers in Coventry and Warwickshire.
The raft of changes mean 7.9million broadband customers will have to fork out more for the company's services, alongside changes in line rentals and unlimited anytime call packages.
Standard and unlimited broadband customers will have to pay £2 more per month, with prices rising to £15 and £20 respectively.
The cost of standard line rental is going up by £1 per month to £18.99, meaning households will pay £12 more per year.
The changes have been outlined in letters to customers from BT, and are set to come into effect from July 3.
Price hikes will also hit BT's superfast broadband Infinity customers, who are set to pay up to £3 more per month, depending on the package they receive.
Anytime call package customers will see an increase from £7.95 to £8.50 per month, with BT Sport subscribers seeing set for price hikes of £1 per month.
John Petter, the chief executive of BT Consumer, said: "We realise that customers never welcome price rises, but we have again ensured that low-income customers avoid increases.
"And we continue to highlight money-saving options for all customers, including those who just want a great value package of a line and calls."
The rise is to pay for the massive losses at BT Sport, it has nothing to with providing telecom services.
