The crash happened on the A45 Fletchamstead Highway in Tile Hill, Coventry, on Saturday morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene of the smash, just past the Wing Wah restaurant on the Birmingham-bound carriageway, shortly after 11.30am.

Two ambulance crews, and a paramedic, attended the incident and the area was briefly closed off to traffic. The cause of the smash is unknown.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The man and both children got out of the vehicle and, other than a couple of minor scratches, were uninjured.

“Because of the level of damage to the car, all three were taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further checks, just as a precaution.”
