The Post Office has announced the trial of a new drop-off point for home shopping customers in Nuneaton returning orders using Royal Mail's pre-paid returns services.

The new site is at One Stop in Trafford Drive.

It is set to make it easier for customers to return orders placed during the peak period for home shopping in the run up to Christmas.

Through trialling this new drop-off point, alongside its current branches, the Post Office wants to encourage new customers to use its services by providing greater convenience and choice as to where and when they return their orders.

As well as the new drop-off point, the Post Office has also announced that people will be able to send more for less.

The maximum size for Royal Mail's Small Parcel format has almost doubled.

This means that consumers and small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) will be able to put bigger items – or more items, into every Small Parcel they send at the Post Office by Royal Mail.

There is also a special offer running until January 18, with Second Class Small Parcels weighing up to 2kg costing the same, at £2.80. Previously, there were separate prices for 0-1kg and 1-2kg parcels. This means a saving of £1 at Post Office branches on Second Class Small Parcels weighing between 1kg and 2kg.

Chief commercial officer Martin George said: "Around one in ten online orders are returned so retailers need to ensure they provide a convenient, easy and reliable returns network. It's a growing market and one in which the Post Office, through its unrivalled reach, is the market leader.

"We're delighted that as well as making it easier for people to visit our branches through longer opening hours we can now also offer even better value for money when posting parcels at Post Office branches."
