Up to 600 jobs are at risk after a major travel operator announced it was pulling out of Coventry.
TUI, which operates holiday brands Thomson and First Choice, has announced it will close its office at Westwood Business Park in Coventry by December 2015.
Tui’s website states the Coventry office employs around 600 people at the site - mainly in office and call centre roles.
The firm says all roles at the site are at risk of redundancy and it has now entered into a consultation period with staff starting on October 2.
Many of the Coventry roles not made redundant will be shifted to the company’s offices Swansea. Other roles would move to the head office in Luton, with the small remainder outsourced to a specialist provider.
The majority of the non-customer contact roles based in Coventry would also move to Luton.
Company officials have said the move is part of the company’s long term strategy to become an online driven business.
