Police were called when a group of football fans went on the rampage at Nuneaton train station.
Bottles were thrown onto the track and there were reports of men running across the rails.
The incident was at around 7.40pm last Saturday and it is believed that those responsible were Everton fans, who had earlier been watching their team in action at Leicester and had stopped off at Nuneaton to drink in pubs near to the station, on their way back to Liverpool.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Our officers and Warwickshire Police attended Nuneaton railway station after a report of disorder involving a large group of men.
“Details of a number of men were taken and enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses, are ongoing.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting incident reference 472 of 16/08/14.

With all the cctv, I would expect all guilty parties to be identified and brought to book for such behaviour.
Sadly, 'group' mentality seems to be raising its' ugly head again.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
