Windows on the buses at the National Express buses were damaged within a ten-minute spell at about 1pm on Saturday as they travelled near Hearsall Common.

A mother who was travelling on the number 6 route, which was one of the buses targeted, with her 13-year-old daughter told the Telegraph that she thought the window had been shot at with a BB gun, a type of air gun.

She said: “The gun shot hit the window and some of the glass came in to the bus - one man’s arm was cut by the glass.

“The driver didn’t seem bothered but all the passengers were shaken up and we made him stop the bus. We all got off and and me and my daughter walked home.

“It’s nerve-wracking waiting for the bus up there now in case whoever did this fires at people instead of just the bus.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after the windows on three buses were damaged on Saturday August 9 at around 1pm.

“We are unable to say at this stage if was caused by an air weapon and inquiries are ongoing to obtain and examine CCTV footage.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
