West Midlands Police confirmed a man had been taken to hospital after the incident at Belgrade Plaza car park.
Paramedics and police gathered around the injured man in long grass beside the car park close to the ring road
The man, thought to be in his 20s or 30s, was anaesthetised at the scene and immobilised before being taken to University Hospital, where he is described as being in a 'serious condition'.
The car park was cordoned off with police tape.
