Man's body is recovered from River Avon in Leamington

A BODY has been recovered from the River Avon in Leamington today (March 2).

Police were called around 3pm on Saturday after a member of the public reported seeing the body of a man Adelaide Road Bridge and Princes Drive in Leamington.

Officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. before the body was recovered by Warwickshire Police water search trained officers.

Although his identity is believed to be known, he will be formally identified once his next of kin have been informed.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious at this stage.
