A MAN riding an off-road motorbike has died after being struck by a train on the outskirts of Coventry today.

The crash happened near the A46 Eastern by pass, between the Toll Bar island and the roundabout near TGI Friday’s.

Witnesses reported large numbers of police in the area near the Texaco garage on the A46 about 2pm.

British Transport Police is dealing with the incident which is causing delays on the Coventry to Rugby railway line.

Many services are being cancelled or delayed and buses have been ordered by train operators London Midland to transport stranded passengers.

London Midland says deals have been reached so tickets should be valid on Virgin and Chiltern services between Birmingham and London.
