Two men threatened staff with a firearm in an armed robbery at a Coventry bank.
A quantity of cash was taken in the incident at Lloyds TSB in Walsgrave at about 1640 GMT on Friday, West Midlands Police said.
The offenders fled the scene in a black Audi, where a third accomplice was waiting.
Sgt Martin Kelly, from Coventry police, said: "This is a very serious incident which left members of staff understandably shaken."
The registration number of the Audi was believed to be H7 DPR, police said.
The West Midlands force has descriptions of the two offenders who entered the bank.
The first offender has been described as a white male between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins with a very slim build and slim face.
His skin was described as dirty and he was wearing a dark-coloured hood.
The second offender has been described as a white male between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins and aged about 30 with a stocky build and light-coloured hair.
He was dressed in black.
