The 72-year-old man had a cut to his head, swollen hand and £180 missing from his wallet.

He had visited the Rose & Crown pub on Friday March 30. Staff from the pub found him in an alleyway next to the pub and took him home.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the elderly man during the time he left the pub and when he was found in the alleyway at 12.30am on Saturday March 31.

A Warwickshire Police spokeswoman said: “We are unclear exactly what has happened and if the man has been a victim of theft. We are keen to establish what happened between the time he left the pub and when he was found by the members of staff.”
